A spell of unemployment?
One year after obtaining their qualification, PhD holders exhibit the lowest rate of unemployment in relation to other university graduates. Moreover, they more frequently occupy executive posts (OFS, 2010).
After leaving university, your entry into the job market may be delayed by a spell of unemployment, which must by no means be considered as something negative : it happens.
Unemployment benefits depend on the place of residence and salaried occupation that the person has had (or not) during the two years prior to the application for benefits.
BNF (website in French or German) is a national programme designed to facilitate the professional integration of highly qualified people (graduates) in search of employment in Switzerland.
