ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy)

Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) is one the most important techniques in instrumental elemental analysis. ICP-OES finds its primary applications in environmental (water, soil), industrial and metallurgic fields, and is an emerging tool in biotechnology, e.g. in organometallic chemistry. The NPAC houses a Perkin-Elmer Optima 2100 ICP-OES able to quantify approximately 70 elements in a variety of matrices.
