Important: The student cannot start his/her thesis before acquiring at least 30 credits (see master regulations).

Useful information and formalities

• The student should find a professor who agrees to supervise his/her thesis research
• The subject of the thesis is determined by the student and the professor
• The "Demande d'agrément de mémoire" (thesis subject approval request) form must be completed and sent to the Secretariat of the Institute of Economic Research / office 305, Mrs Pasqualina Lassagne, before the deadline indicated in the table "Deadlines" at the bottom of this page
• It is necessary to maintain regular contact between the student and the professor during the entire period of research
• The student should make sure that his/her research thesis is registered in IS Academia for the appropriate exam period

Defense

• The thesis defense takes place before a jury composed of the professor and one other qualified person, normally a collaborator (e.g. teaching assistant) of the institute
• The date of the defense is set by the professor in agreement with the student
• The final version of the thesis (2 printed copies of the thesis as well as the complete document in electronic form) must be sent to the professor at least 4 weeks before the defense
• After the defense, a paper copy of the thesis will be archived by the Institute at the faculty library

Useful information and formalities

• The student should find the internship himself/herself (internship availabilities are posted on faculty/institute website)
• An internship lasts not less than 12 weeks and not more than 6 months (full-time)
• The exact terms of the internship (duties, remuneration, etc.) are elaborated by the student and the institution offering the internship (hereafter host institution) 
• The student should find a professor who agrees to supervise his/her internship thesis
• The subject of the internship thesis is determined by the student and the professor in agreement with the host institution 
• The "Demande d'agrément de stage" (internship approval request) form must be completed and submitted to the Secretariat of the Institute of Economic Research / office 305, Mrs Pasqualina Lassagne, before the deadline indicated in the table "Deadlines" at the bottom of this page
• If required by the host institution, the student should also fill out the "Déclaration relative à la confidentialité du mémoire de stage" (declaration of confidentiality of the internship thesis) form
• Once the application is approved, two copies of the "Convention de stage" (internship agreement) will be sent by the institute to the student who then transmits one of them to the host institution
• It is necessary to maintain regular contact between the student and the professor during the entire period of internship
• The student should make sure that his/her internship thesis is registered in IS Academia for the appropriate exam period

• The date of the defense is set by the professor in agreement with the student and the representative of the host institution
• The final version of the internship thesis (2 printed copies of the thesis as well as the complete document in electronic form) must be sent to the professor at least 2 weeks before the date of defense
• After the defense, a paper copy of the thesis will be archived by the Institute at the faculty library
