Biographie

Florence Guillaume est Professeure ordinaire de droit civil, de droit international privé et de droit du numérique à la Faculté de droit de l'Université de Neuchâtel depuis 2006. Elle enseigne le droit international privé, le droit des successions, les relations familiales internationales, le contentieux international en droit des affaires et la résolution des litiges dans le numérique. Ses recherches et publications couvrent un large éventail de sujets, notamment le droit international des sociétés, la résolution des litiges internationaux, le droit international des titres intermédiés, le droit national et international des successions, le droit international des trusts, et les questions juridiques liées aux technologies numériques. En 2020, elle a fondé le LexTech Institute qui est un centre universitaire dédié à la recherche et la formation en matière de technologies numériques. La Professeure Guillaume a assumé la fonction de Doyenne de la Faculté de droit (2011-2014) et est actuellement membre du Conseil de l'Université. Elle a également été Professeure invitée à l'Université de Stanford (CodeX) (2022) et à l'Université de Paris-Dauphine (2022-2023), ainsi que Professeure en détachement auprès de la Conférence de La Haye de droit international privé (2014-2015). Avant sa carrière académique, la Professeure Guillaume a pratiqué le barreau comme avocate à Genève et à Zurich (2000-2006). Elle a également été suppléante au Chef de la Section de droit international privé de l'Office fédéral de la justice à Berne (2006).

 

Florence Guillaume is a Full Professor of civil law, private international law and digital law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) since 2006. She teaches courses in private international law, inheritance law, international family law, international business litigation and digital dispute resolution. Her research and publication cover a wide array of topics, including international corporate law, international business litigation, international intermediated securities law, national and international succession law, international trust law, and legal issues of digitalisation. She founded in 2020 the LexTech Institute, which is an academic center dedicated to research and training in digital technologies. Professor Guillaume has been the Dean of the Faculty of Law (2011-2014) and she is currently member of the Council of the University. She has also been a Visiting scholar at Stanford University (CodeX) (2022) and at the University of Paris-Dauphine (2022-2023), as well as a Professor on secondment at The Hague Conference on Private International Law (2014-2015). Before entering academics, Professor Guillaume practiced as a lawyer at the Geneva Bar and the Zurich Bar (2000-2006). She also worked as a Deputy to the Head of the Private International Law Department at the Swiss Federal Ministry of Justice in Berne (2006).
