M. Röösli

Michael Röösli currently works as a maître assistant suppléant in Contemporary English at the University of Lausanne. He holds a degree in English, a complementary degree and an MAS in Computational Linguistics, as well as a PhD in Contemporary English Literature from the University of Geneva. His teaching and research mostly involve the fields of literary theory, visual culture, and inter- as well as transmedia approaches to the process of reading. In his dissertation, The Photograph and the Literary Text: A Transmedia Hermeneutics, he shows that the bracketing of epistemological media boundaries in favour of a shared or transmedia perspective can help to solve a number of persisting theoretical problems. The argument opens at the same time a space where formerly contradictory theories appear in a different light, and can engage in new and fertile dialogues.
