David Correia Saavedra
David Correia Saavedra studied at the University of Lausanne where he completed an M.A. in English (1st discipline) and in Computer Science and Mathematical Methods (2nd discipline). His mémoire de maîtrise was focused on English lexical blending and the use of automated methods to spot potentially new morphemes. He is mainly interested in computational and quantitative approaches to linguistics.
He is currently working on his PhD thesis entitled "Measurements of Grammaticalization: Developing a quantitative index for the study of grammatical change", as well as on the FNS project "Why is there regularity in grammatical semantic change? Reassessing the explanatory power of asymmetric priming".
